It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that when revelation would descend upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would experience distress and pain, and his complexion would change. One day, when revelation descended upon him, the same condition overtook him. When this state ended, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Learn from me, learn from me. Allah Almighty has made the way clear for them. When a married man commits adultery with a married woman, and an unmarried man with an unmarried woman, then the married ones are to be flogged one hundred lashes and stoned, and the unmarried ones are to be flogged one hundred lashes and exiled for one year.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This hadith is actually an explanation of this verse: {وَالّٰتِیْیَاْتِیْنَالْفَاحِشَۃَمِنْنِّسَآئِکُمْفَاسْتَشْھِدُوْاعَلَیْھِنَّاَرْبَعَۃًمِّنْکُمْفَاِنْشَھِدُوْافَاَمْسِکُوْھُنَّفِیالْبُیُوْتِحَتّٰییَتَوَفّٰھُنَّالْمَوْتُاَوْیَجْعَلَاللّٰہُلَہُنَّسَبِیْلَا} … “If any of your women commit indecency, call to witness four from among you against them; then if they bear witness, confine those women to their houses until death completes their term, or Allah makes for them another way.” (Surah An-Nisa: 15) In this hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, by stating the punishments for fornicators, is clarifying that very “other way.”
