عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الرَّجْمَ سُنَّةٌ مِنْ سُنَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ كَانَتْ نَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الرَّجْمِ فَهَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا وَآيًا مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ بِالْيَمَامَةِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Stoning to death is one of the Sunnahs of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the verse of stoning was also revealed. Those who used to recite it and other verses of the Qur'an were martyred in Yamama.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In reality, the recitation of the clear verse regarding stoning (rajm) was abrogated, as is made clear from the hadith of Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu.
