عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُخَنِّثِي الرِّجَالِ الَّذِينَ يَتَشَبَّهُونَ بِالنِّسَاءِ وَالْمُتَرَجِّلَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ الْمُتَشَبِّهَاتِ بِالرِّجَالِ وَرَاكِبَ الْفَلَاةِ وَحْدَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed those effeminate men who imitate women, and also cursed those women who adopt the ways of men and imitate them, and also cursed the one who travels alone in the wilderness.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Allah Ta'ala has created the physical form, speech, manner of walking, movement, and many other characteristics of both men and women separately, and has prescribed certain specific rulings for each gender, such as clothing, fragrance, hair of the head, etc. Each gender should adhere to its natural characteristics and should not, out of affectation, adopt the characteristics of the other—men should not adopt the characteristics of women, nor women those of men. Otherwise, they will become deserving of the curse of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
