Abu Azhar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) described to him the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He wiped his head with a handful of water, until drops of water began to fall from his head or were about to fall. In any case, he demonstrated the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to them. When he reached the wiping of the head, he placed both his palms on the front part of the head, then moved them over the head until he reached the nape, then brought them back to the place from where he had started.
