It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) that water for ablution was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He performed ablution, washed both hands three times, washed his face three times, then rinsed his mouth and put water into his nose three times, wiped his head and the outer and inner parts of his ears, and washed his feet three times.
