It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) saw a woman, and she pleased him, so he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) went to his pure wife, Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her), while she was tanning leather. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) fulfilled his need with her and said: Indeed, a woman approaches in the form of Satan and turns away in the form of Satan. Therefore, when any man sees a woman and she pleases him, he should go to his wife and (fulfill his need), for this will remove the evil thought from his soul.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … If a person is concerned with remaining pure and chaste, then the principle stated in this hadith will be his greatest aid, because chastity is only affected when a person pursues non-mahram women, and then, day by day, Satan begins to take hold in his heart. If someone acts upon this rule, he will attain two blessings: one, to show indifference towards non-mahram women, and the other, to have intercourse with his own wife. The latter, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has declared to be a source of reward. Satan stays far away from such a person. In the beginning part of this blessed hadith, there is a noteworthy point: that woman appeared pleasing to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Regarding this, Ibn Arabi writes: The thought that came to the heart of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is such a matter that, neither is there any legal accountability for it, nor does it diminish the rank and status of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in any way. What the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam felt is part of human nature, while the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was infallible (ma‘sum) and wise. Despite this, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam fulfilled the right of marriage and, with chastity, ended this natural and instinctive thought.
After acknowledging the infallibility and greatness of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, readers should distinguish between these matters: merely having a thought about something; making a definite intention to do evil; then, considering it disobedience, intending to refrain from it; resolving to do evil and striving to commit it; and actually committing the evil in practice. The latter three matters are contrary to infallibility; the first is not subject to accountability, especially when its effect is removed through a good deed. And Allah knows best what is correct.
