Hadith 6656

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Do not follow one glance with another glance; the first glance is forgiven, but you are not permitted the second.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The first glance refers to an accidental, unintentional look. If a person, acting upon these ahadith, immediately averts his gaze from a non-mahram woman upon whom his glance has fallen, then the image of that woman cannot be retained in his mind. As a result of this action, there comes blessing (barakah) into his being, and in this way, a person is completely protected from impure thoughts.
