Muhammad bin Yazid narrates from the father of his maternal aunt, who says: Regarding the woman from the Makhzum tribe who stole a sheet, I said to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: I will give forty uqiyah as ransom for her, so that she may be released in exchange, but the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If she is purified, that is better for her. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered, and her hand was cut off. This woman was from Banu Abd al-Asad.
