Busr bin Sa'id (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Maqa'id and asked for water for ablution. He performed ablution in such a way that he rinsed his mouth, put water into his nose, washed his face three times, washed both hands three times each, then wiped his head and washed both feet three times each, and said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution in this manner. O people! Was it like this?" They said: "Yes." Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) had this confirmed by a group of his companions who were present.
