عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ مَا رُفِعَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْرٌ فِيهِ الْقِصَاصُ إِلَّا أَمَرَ فِيهِ بِالْعَفْوِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever a case involving retribution (qisas) was presented to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would first command forgiveness.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is understood that pardoning retribution (qisas) is a deed that brings reward, and this is among the greatest forms of forgiveness. If even the blood money (diyah) is forgiven, then this will be a supreme example of magnanimity.
