Hadith 6558

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Retaliation (qisas) will not be taken from children for (killing) their parents.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From these narrations, it is established that parents will not be executed in retaliation (qisas) for killing their child. The reason for this is that the parents themselves were the cause of the child's existence; therefore, if they end his life, their own lives should not be ended in return. Another reason could be the respect and honor due to parents.

However, in such a case, the father will be required to pay blood money (diyah), and he will be deprived of inheritance from the son, because a killer cannot become the heir of the one whom he has killed.
