Hadith 6557

عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَذَفَ رَجُلٌ ابْنًا لَهُ بِسَيْفِهِ فَقَتَلَهُ فَرُفِعَ إِلَى عُمَرَ فَقَالَ لَوْلَا أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يُقَادُ الْوَالِدُ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ لَقَتَلْتُكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَبْرَحَ
Mujahid says that a man killed his son by striking his neck with a sword. When this case was brought before the court of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: If I had not heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that retribution is not taken from a father for killing his child, I would have killed you right here.
