It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A prophet camped under a tree and an ant bit him, so he ordered that his belongings be moved from under that tree, then he ordered that the ants be burned. Thereupon Allah Almighty revealed to that prophet: Why did you not burn only the one ant?

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In a narration of Sahih Bukhari, it is stated: ((فَأَوْحَیاللّٰہاِلَیْہِاَنْقَرَصَتْکَنَمْلَۃٌاَحْرَقْتَاُمَّۃًمِّنَالْاُمَمِتُسْبِحُاللّٰہَ۔)) … "So Allah Ta'ala revealed to that Prophet that: 'A single ant bit you, yet you burned an entire community from among the communities that glorify Allah Ta'ala.'" It is possible that, according to the Shari'ah of that Prophet, punishing with fire was permissible; therefore, he was not reproached for burning (with fire), but rather he was rebuked for burning the other ants.
