Hadith 6522

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog that is not for farming, hunting, or livestock, then a qirat from his reward is reduced every day. Salim, the narrator, says: I think he also said that a qirat is like the mountain of Uhud.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The comparison of a qirat to the mountain of Uhud is due to a doubt on the part of the narrator; in reality, the qirat mentioned as the reward for participating in a funeral is like the mountain of Uhud. These words of the narrator, Salim bin Hayyan, are not found in Sahih Muslim.
