بَابُ الرُّحْصَةِ فِي عَدْمٍ قَتْلِ الْكِلابِ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَ البهيمChapter: Concession in not killing dogs except the pure black one
Hadith 6518

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا لَكُمْ وَالْكِلَابَ ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ فِي كَلْبِ الصَّيْدِ وَالْغَنَمِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the killing of dogs, and then said: What is your concern with dogs? Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted hunting dogs and dogs that guard sheep.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From the ahadith of this chapter, it is understood that the general command to kill dogs has been abrogated; however, the command to kill the jet-black dog remains. As for the issue of whether a dog can be kept inside the house or not, its details are coming in the next chapter.
