عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّ أُمَّ شَرِيكٍ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا اسْتَأْمَرَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَتْلَ الْوَزَغَاتِ فَأَمَرَهَا بِقَتْلِ الْوَزَغَاتِ
Saeed bin Musayyib narrates that Sayyida Umm Shuraik (may Allah be pleased with her) reports that she asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the command regarding killing lizards, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed her to kill lizards.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The lizard is a poisonous creature; if it falls into any food or drink, it renders it poisonous, to the extent that it can even cause death. Therefore, there is an instruction to kill it.
