Hadith 6494

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing household snakes, except for two types: the snake with a short tail and the one with two stripes on its back, for they snatch away eyesight and cause miscarriages in women. Whoever leaves these two (without killing them) is not from among us.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is possible that these snakes possess poisonous material in their gaze, and there is also the possibility that their bite causes blindness, and pregnant women miscarry. Another interpretation is that when a pregnant woman looks at them and becomes frightened, her pregnancy is lost.
