It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jundub Bajli, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man was wounded, he was brought home, his wounds made him restless, and he took an arrow from his quiver and pierced it into his throat. When people mentioned this to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he narrated from Allah Almighty, saying: My servant has hastened with regard to his soul ahead of Me.

Benefits: … This hadith is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari (3463) and Sahih Muslim (113) from Sayyiduna Jundub radi Allahu anhu with these words: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Among those who were before you, there was a man who had a wound, but he became impatient and took a knife and cut his hand with it. The blood did not stop until he died. Allah, the Exalted, said: ‘My servant has hastened with his soul before Me; I have made Paradise forbidden for him.’” … “There was a man before you who suffered a wound, but he showed impatience and took a knife and cut his hand, so the blood did not stop until he died. Allah, the Exalted, said: ‘My servant has tried to outpace Me regarding his soul, so I have made Paradise forbidden for him.’”
