Abdur Rahman bin Samurah says: I was walking with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), when suddenly we saw a head that had been hung on a stick. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Its killer is wretched. I said: O Abu Abdur Rahman! Are you saying this? He withdrew his hand from me and said: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that when a man from my Ummah sets out to kill another, then the one who is killed (should act) like the son of Adam (peace be upon him) (and not raise his hand), because the slain will be in Paradise and the killer in Hell.
