Hadith 6411

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mus'ab bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a dispute between Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) and his brother Sayyiduna Amr bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him). Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) went to Sa'id bin As (may Allah be pleased with him), while Sayyiduna Amr bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) was sitting with him on the bed. Sayyiduna Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Come here," but he replied: "No, we will adopt the method of judgment of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and that is that both parties sit before the judge."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … When a ruler seats someone before him and listens to his case, it becomes more likely to reach the truth. In any case, this narration is weak, but generally, when the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) would come to the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and confess their crimes, they would stand before him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
