Hadith 640

Abu Ghatfan, may Allah have mercy on him, says: I went to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he was performing ablution, he rinsed his mouth and put water into his nose and then said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Blow your nose twice," (in another narration: "Blow it well two or three times").

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Al-Madmadah (rinsing the mouth): Moving water inside the mouth. Al-Istinshaq: Drawing water into the nose with the help of breath. Al-Istinthar: Expelling the water that was drawn into the nose by blowing it out with the pressure of breath. Many people have been observed who, during ablution (wudu), do not clean the nose according to the Sunnah.
