Hadith 6394

(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever seeks the position of judge for himself, it will be entrusted to him; and whoever is given it forcefully, an angel will descend upon him who will guide him towards what is better.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The following hadith establishes this very issue: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Samurah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “O Abdur Rahman bin Samurah! Do not ask for leadership (imarah), for if it is given to you as a result of your asking, you will be left to it (i.e., its responsibilities will be placed solely upon you), but if it is given to you without your asking, you will be aided in it.” (Sahih Bukhari: 6622, Sahih Muslim: 1652)
