It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I will not leave any matter that is, in my view, more important than the issue of kalalah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pressed me so hard regarding this issue that since I joined the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he had never pressed me so much on any matter. And I did not consult the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about any issue as much as I did about kalalah, until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) poked his finger into my chest and said: O Umar! Is the last verse of Surah An-Nisa, which was revealed in the summer, not sufficient for you? Then he said: If I remain alive, I will give such a verdict about kalalah that everyone will understand it, whether he recites the Qur’an or not.
