Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah said: There is no adultery in Islam, and whoever committed adultery in the time of ignorance, I have attached (the child born as a result) to his 'asaba (paternal relatives), and whoever claims a child without marriage, then that man will neither inherit from the child nor will the child inherit from him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The father and son become heirs to one another due to lineage, whereas lineage is not established through fornication (zina). For lineage, a valid (shar‘i) marriage (nikah) is necessary. Therefore, a child born as a result of fornication will be deprived of attribution to the father, and the chain of inheritance from the father will also be severed. The attribution and chain of inheritance for such a child will be only through their mother.
