Sayyiduna Malik bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf, Sayyiduna Talha, Sayyiduna Zubair, and Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with them) and said: I ask you by Allah, by whose command the heavens and the earth stand firm, do you know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that we do not leave inheritance; whatever we leave behind is charity. All of them said: Yes, we have heard this.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The requirement of all the blessed ahadith is that the inheritance (taraka) of the noble Prophets (alayhimus-salam) is not distributed among their heirs; rather, all of it automatically becomes charity (sadaqah). However, from this inheritance, the maintenance (kafalah) of those individuals will be provided for whom the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was responsible.
