It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man deliberately killed his son. When his case was presented before Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), he determined as blood money for the killer thirty hiqqahs, thirty jadh’ahs, and forty two-toothed camels, and said: The killer does not become an heir. Then he said: If I had not heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that a father should not be killed in retaliation for his child, I would have killed you in retribution.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … If a father intentionally kills his son, he cannot be killed in retribution (qisas); however, he will pay blood money (diyah), which will be distributed among the heirs of the one who was killed, and such a father will be deprived of the inheritance and blood money of the murdered person, because a killer is deprived of the inheritance of his victim due to the act of killing.
