Hadith 6296

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a person who takes back his gift is like that of a dog who keeps eating until he is full, then vomits, and then starts licking his own vomit.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The implication of all the aforementioned ahadith is that something given as a gift cannot be taken back, because its example is an evil one, and it has already been mentioned in hadith number (6289) that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((لَیْسَ لَنَا مَثَلُ السَّوْئِ۔)) … “For us, there is no evil example.” However, the following hadith related to this subject is worthy of attention.
