عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ بَعَثَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ فَبَعَثْتُ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْهَا فَلَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ قَالَ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ قَالَتْ لَا إِلَّا أَنَّ نُسَيْبَةَ بَعَثَتْ إِلَيْنَا مِنَ الشَّاةِ الَّتِي بَعَثْتُمْ بِهَا إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا قَدْ بَلَغَتْ مَحِلَّهَا
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Atiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a goat given in charity to her, and she sent a portion of it to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked: "Is there anything to eat?" She replied: "No, except that Naseebah (i.e., Umm Atiyya) sent a portion of that goat which you had given to her." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, it has reached its proper place."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … How interesting it is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself sent a goat as charity to Sayyidah Umm ‘Atiyyah radi Allahu anha, and then he also accepted meat from that very goat. The reason for this is that when Sayyidah Umm ‘Atiyyah radi Allahu anha became the owner of the goat, its ruling changed; it was no longer considered charity. For this reason, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam accepted its meat.
