It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that meat was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was said to him that this had been given as charity to Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is charity for her and a gift for us."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … When charity (sadaqah) was given to Sayyidah Barirah radi Allahu anha and she became its owner, its ruling would change. Some people have been observed who feel ashamed to accept the hospitality or gifts of those who receive charity and alms; this is their mistake. When the recipient of charity or zakat takes possession of the charity, its ruling changes and it is no longer considered charity in his hand. See Hadith number (6267).
