Hadith 6257

عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَنْ مَنَحَ مَنِيحَةَ لَبَنٍ أَوْ مَنِيحَةَ وَرِقٍ أَوْ هَدَى زُقَاقًا فَهُوَ كَعِتْقِ رَقَبَةٍ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever gives a gift of milk, gives a gift of silver, or guides (the blind, the lost, etc.) on the way, he will be like one who frees a slave.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … A gift is given on a permanent basis as well as temporarily for the purpose of deriving benefit; a loan is also a form of temporary gift.
