Hadith 6250

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَهَادَوْا فَإِنَّ الْهَدِيَّةَ تُذْهِبُ وَغَرَ الصَّدْرِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give gifts to one another, for gifts remove malice from the hearts.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … A gift is an indication of the affection of the person giving it; therefore, it receives love from the one who accepts the gift, and in this way, the hearts of both become free of ill feelings toward each other.
