عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ أَيُّمَا شَجَرَةٍ أَظَلَّتْ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فَصَاحِبُهَا بِالْخِيَارِ مِنْ قَطْعِ مَا أَظَلَّ أَوْ أَكْلِ ثَمَرِهَا
Makhool Tabi'i narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a tree begins to cast its shade over a people, then the one under the shade has the right to either cut off the part that gives shade or to eat its fruit.
