عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَلَهُ فِيهَا يَعْنِي أَجْرًا وَمَا أَكَلَتِ الْعَوَافِي مِنْهَا فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever revives dead land, he will receive its reward, and for every living being that eats from it seeking sustenance, it will be charity for him.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By "dead land" is meant that land which is not owned by anyone, neither by any individual among the public nor by the government.
