It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said in his sermon during the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage: Beware! A borrowed item (taken temporarily) must be returned, a grant (that which is given for benefit for a certain period) must also be returned, a loan must be repaid, and the guarantor of a thing is responsible for its payment.
