Hadith 615

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When you put on clothes and when you perform ablution, then begin from the right side."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In all noble matters and acts of honor and adornment, the right hand and the right side should be given precedence. In human life, there are only a few matters in which the left hand or the left side is given precedence, such as exiting the mosque, removing clothes, entering the toilet (baitu’l-khala), blowing the nose, etc. This is also a beloved Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and by doing so, one opposes Shaytan, because he gives precedence to the left hand and the left side. However, if it is said regarding all Muslims, it would not be an exaggeration to say that we have all been very negligent in this matter.
