عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَانَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كَسْبِ الْإِمَاءِ إِلَّا مَا عَمِلَتْ بِيَدِهَا وَقَالَ هَكَذَا بِأَصَابِعِهِ نَحْوَ الْخُبْزِ وَالْغَزْلِ وَالنَّفْشِ
It is narrated from Rafi' bin Rifa'ah that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade us from the earnings of slave-girls, except that which they earn with their own hands in such a manner. Then the narrator indicated with his fingers towards making bread, spinning thread, and carding cotton.
