عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نَقْرَأُ فِينَا الْعَرَبِيُّ وَالْعَجَمِيُّ وَالْأَسْوَدُ وَالْأَبْيَضُ إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَنْتُمْ فِي خَيْرٍ تَقْرَءُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَسَيَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يُثَقِّفُونَهُ كَمَا يُثَقِّفُونَ الْقِدْحَ يَتَعَجَّلُونَ أُجُورَهُمْ وَلَا يَتَأَجَّلُونَهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Once we were reciting the Holy Qur'an, among us were Arabs and non-Arabs, black and white people. Suddenly, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: You are upon goodness and virtue, you are reciting the Book of Allah and the Messenger of Allah is among you. Soon a time will come upon people that, in terms of recitation, they will straighten the words of the Holy Qur'an just as an arrow is straightened, but they will hasten to obtain its reward and will not delay it until the Hereafter.

Benefits: … This narration is authentic with the following wording: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Among you is the Book of Allah; the black, the red, and the white—all are learning it. Learn it before a time comes when people will acquire its knowledge, but it will not go beyond their collarbones. They will straighten its words as an arrow is straightened, but they will hasten to seek its reward and will not defer it until the Hereafter.” (Abu Dawud: 831, Musnad Ahmad: 5/338, and this is his wording)
