A similar hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), except that it contains these additional words: "I have believed in what you have brought, and I am the messenger of those people of my tribe who have stayed behind. I am Dhamam bin Tha'labah from the Banu Sa'd bin Bakr."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The principle of the Shari‘ah is that, in times of need, questions should be asked of the people of knowledge, as is stated in the command of Allah, the Exalted: {فَاسْئَلُوْااَھْلَالذِّکْرِاِنْکُنْتُمْلَاتَعْلَمُوْنَ} … So ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. (Surah al-Nahl: 43, Surah al-Anbiya: 7)
However, on the other hand, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also forbade asking unnecessary questions, and for this reason, the Companions who were aware of these etiquettes exercised caution in asking questions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Yet, their desire was that the process of questioning should continue so that various rulings could be clarified. Therefore, they wished that some intelligent Bedouin would come and ask questions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
