بَابُ فَضْلٍ مَنْ أَنْظَرَ مُعْسِرًا أَوْ وَضَعَ لَهُChapter: The virtue of one who grants respite to a debtor in difficulty or waives it for him
Hadith 6048

عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ أَظَلَّ اللَّهُ فِي ظِلِّهِ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّهُ مَنْ أَنْظَرَ مُعْسِرًا أَوْ تَرَكَ لِغَارِمٍ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty will grant shade to that person on the Day when there will be no other shade, who gives respite to a debtor in difficulty or forgives the one who owes him.
