Abu Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I went to Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), while he was sitting in the mosque searching for lice and pressing them into the pebbles. I said: "O Abu Umamah! Indeed, a man has narrated this hadith from you: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whoever performs ablution and perfects his ablution, then washes his hands, washes his face, wipes his head and ears, and then stands for the obligatory prayer, then the sins of that day will be forgiven for him—those to which his feet walked, those about which his hands decided, those which his ears heard, his eyes saw, and his soul spoke evil about.'" He said: "By Allah! I have heard this hadith countless times from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
