Hadith 597

عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ وَضُوءَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا يَسْهُو فِيهِمَا غُفِرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever performs ablution and performs it well, and then offers two units of prayer without forgetting, Allah Almighty will forgive his past sins."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The meaning of “not forgetting” is that the prayer should be performed with complete attention and one should not fall into heedlessness. If any external thought arises, it should be removed through the prescribed (shar‘i) methods.
