عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي إِلَّا اللَّبَنَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ بَيْنَ الرَّغْوَةِ وَالصَّرِيحِ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What I fear most for my Ummah is the matter of milk, because Satan is between pure milk and its froth."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Indeed, I only fear for my Ummah regarding the Book and milk.” He said: It was asked, “O Messenger of Allah! What is the matter with the Book?” He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The hypocrites will learn it and then argue with it against those who have believed.” It was then asked: “And what is the matter with milk?” He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “People will love milk, so they will leave the congregations and abandon the Friday prayers.” … “What I fear most for my Ummah is regarding the Qur’an and milk.” Someone asked: “O Messenger of Allah! What is the reason for the Book?” He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The hypocrites will learn it and then argue with the believers using it.” Then someone asked: “What is the reason for milk?” He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “People will love milk, then they will leave the congregations and abandon the Friday prayers.” (Musnad Ahmad: 4/146, 17318)
In another narration: “They will learn the Qur’an and interpret it in a way other than what Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has revealed, and they will love milk, so they will abandon the congregational prayers and the Friday prayers and go out (to the wilderness).” … “They will learn the Qur’an and then interpret it in a way for which Allah Ta’ala did not reveal the Qur’an, and they will love milk, then (in search of it) they will leave the congregations and the Friday prayers and go out to the wilderness.” (Musnad Ahmad: 4/155)
The wording of another narration is: “As for milk, they will seek the countryside and follow their desires and abandon the prayers, and as for the Qur’an, its detail is that the hypocrites will learn it and then argue with the believers using it.” … “As for the matter of milk, people will seek the open fields (and green lands), follow their desires, and abandon the prayers, and as for the matter of the Qur’an, its detail is that the hypocrites will learn it and then argue with the believers using it.” (Musnad Ahmad: 4/157)
