Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man took wine and boarded a boat with the intention of selling it. When he sold the wine, he would mix it with water and then sell it. Meanwhile, a monkey grabbed his bag and climbed up the mast of the boat, and started throwing one dinar into the sea and one into the boat, until all the dinars were distributed.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This narration is actually the statement of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu, and it pertains to the time when alcohol was lawful. The monkey threw the original price of the alcohol into the boat and the price of the adulterated one into the sea, thereby destroying it.
All the narrations are clear in their meaning that no Muslim should deceive anyone, and when selling one’s goods, one should clarify their defects.
