Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrated a similar hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but with this addition: "This is ribat."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … To be stationed in the battlefield or at the frontlines, remaining constantly vigilant and prepared for jihad, is ribat. It is as if, through the aforementioned actions, a person remains protected from the evil of the real enemy, Shaytan, and saves the soul (nafs) from desires (shahawat). In reality, the meaning of ribat is to bind the soul (nafs) and the body with obedience.
