It is narrated from Abu Bakhtari Tai that he asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about selling the fruit of dates. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling the fruit of dates until it becomes fit for eating and weighing. Another man asked: What is meant by weighing? He said: Estimation.
