It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked whether fresh dates could be sold in exchange for dry dates. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the fresh dates dry, does their weight not decrease? The people said: Yes. Because of this, he (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked this transaction.
