Hadith 5830

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ شِرَاءِ مَا فِي بُطُونِ الْأَنْعَامِ حَتَّى تَضَعَ وَعَنْ بَيْعِ مَا فِي ضُرُوعِهَا إِلَّا بِكَيْلٍ وَعَنْ شِرَاءِ الْعَبْدِ وَهُوَ آبِقٌ وَعَنْ شِرَاءِ الْمَغَانِمِ حَتَّى تُقْسَمَ وَعَنْ شِرَاءِ الصَّدَقَاتِ حَتَّى تُقْبَضَ وَعَنْ ضَرْبَةِ الْغَائِصِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade buying the unborn offspring of livestock before they are born, buying milk in the udders without measuring it, buying a runaway slave, buying spoils of war before they are distributed, buying charity before taking possession of it, and trading by divers.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In both of the above-mentioned hadiths, the types of sales described involve deception. It is not known what the runaway slave or camel is like, nor whether it will even be caught or not. Similarly, regarding what is in the wombs of pregnant animals, it is unknown whether it is male or female, or whether it is fully formed or deficient in form, and so on by analogy.
