It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fraudulent trade. Ayub says that Yahya bin Abi Kathir, while explaining fraudulent trade, said: The sale of a diver’s catch is a fraudulent transaction, the sale of a runaway slave is fraud, there is deception in the sale of a runaway camel, bargaining over the unborn young in the bellies of livestock is fraud, the sale of clay from the ears is a fraudulent transaction, and the sale of the milk in the udders of livestock is also based on fraud, except when measured.
