It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade fraudulent trade. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This was the method of trade among people in the Age of Ignorance; its form was that a person would sell a she-camel in exchange for the unborn offspring of another she-camel. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade this.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Ḥabl al-ḥablat (the pregnancy of the pregnancy): There are three well-known interpretations of this:
(1) A man buys a she-camel on the condition that he will pay its price when the she-camel gives birth, and then the calf that is in the womb of the she-camel will itself give birth to another calf.
(2) Selling the offspring that will be born from the animal that is currently being nurtured in the womb of the female, after it grows up and gives birth.
(3) Giving the animal on the condition that when it gives birth, its offspring’s offspring will have to be given.
According to all three definitions, there is deception in this, and it is the sale of a non-existent and unknown thing.
