Hadith 5797

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Saeed bin Harith, the brother of Sayyiduna Amr bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with them), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sells his house or land and does not spend its price on something of the same kind, then he is deserving that there should be no blessing for him in that transaction.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whoever sells a house and does not spend its price on something similar, there will be no blessing for him in it.” (Ibn Majah: 2/97, Sahihah: 2327)

We ourselves have observed, and our elders have also informed us, that when a person begins to sell houses and land, its result manifests as his poverty and destitution, or at the very least, in some way or another, such money is lost. Except for whom Allah wills.
